Crocodile Locomotive

Again at the swiss transport museum (bought a yearly pass) and attempted the "crocodile", a famous electric locomotive in switzerland. The overall shape of the locomotive is quite simple but I struggled for almost an hour to do the layin for a 3/4 (not shown here). Will definitely re-attempt it at my next visit because it's an incredible piece of equipment.

Stuff from my kitchen

Attempted more complex shapes but failed. This is one of these days ;). So I fell back on drawing bottles.

Steam Locomotive

Spent on hour at the swiss transport museum and had time to do just one page. A mountain car and and a more classical locomotive (Langnau 1881). Finally understood what's the function of the boxes on the side (pistons). Very interesting day.

Stuff from my bathroom

Sketched random stuff I found in my bathroom. Lot of simple objects that are easy to draw.

Toy Train

Bought a toy locomotive at the museum yesterday. Tried to sketch it today. Not easy at all. Lost patience attempting the large three quarter and messed it up ;(

Swiss Transport Museum

Spent 1 hour and a half at the train section of the swiss transport museum. Continued to experiment with toned paper and marker. Used Staedler 0.3 and Copic W3. Botched perspective in some sketches. Always more difficult on location than at home.
The Sulzer diesel/electric car was difficult to do. Was surprised by the size of it. I think I almost got the overall shape correct but I couldn't get the details correctly. There is so much going on and I am losing patience quickly and the shortcuts are not effective.

After that, was completely drained so I just sketched some objects from and exhibit showing stationmasters equipement.  Looking at the page now, I think the values are not strong enough. I need need to push the black more and maybe put some white. What do you think?

Baby Teddy Bear

"Bébé ourson". Had fun sketching it. Plush animals are easier to draw for me because they have usually simple shape and have no "correct" proportions. Missing here is the "plush" texture.

Toy doctor kit

Again stuff from my living room. Mostly from a doctor toy kit. Tried to do experiment rendering and have a more dynamic perspective as suggested by Dmitri. Not too bad but I noticed I got a bit distracted and the fundamental layins suffered a little bit.

Stuff laying around in my living room

Tried to sketch as many objects as possible. These parallel lines are a problem with mechanical stuff. Not easy for me.

Toy spider

Attempted a rubber toy spider. Body is not so difficult to do but the eight legs are challenging. Very time consuming to draw. Attempted a larger sketch a the end.  Errors in the abdomen shadow and in the legs but overall, it's not too bad.

Tried sketching a toy ostrich from Schleich. Didn't go well.

Toy Hammer

Will try to do one page like this per day. Alternating mechanical/organic stuff.
